Cinapoatra Cookies

1/2 cup butter

3/4 cup brown sugar (packed)

3/4 cup granulated sugar

1 egg

1 tsp vanilla

1/2 tsp cinnamon

1/2 cup applesauce

2 cups flour

1 cup raisins

3 and 1/4 cup oats

Cream butter and sugars. Stir in egg and vanilla. Stir in cinnamon and applesauce. Gradually add flour. Stir in oats and raisins. Bake at 350 degrees for 12-14 minutes.

About the Author

Born in Pennsylvania in 1963, Paula met her best friend and soul mate, Garrett, in 1982, whom she later married in 1986. After becoming an army wife in 1989, she and Garrett were gifted with their dream-come-true in 1991 of a daughter they named Carole. We have the unique visitors. A large doe striding into the front yard and grazing under the cherry tree with two fawns is a magnificent sight. The buck stays across the road in the wood line.

One year my husband and I watched a lady walk down the road with a livestock lead. My expression was curious so when she smiled and pointed, I looked and almost fell off the front porch. Coming toward us was large young bull and his handler who kept shoving him back onto the road—he managed to snatch a few occasional strands of grass. With the lead snapped in place, the bull was escorted home. Later I learned that the radio station had received reports of a mad bull charging cars—and not all the cars were red—even the police had responded.
